“Yervandashat Agricultural Association” consumer cooperative

“Yervandashat Agricultural Association” consumer cooperative (which is located in Armavir marz) is producing dried fruit. Main product is dried fruit derived from local raw material: apricot, peach, pear, plum, cherry, etc. Main part of the product is consumed in Russian Federation and the Armenian market. Conditionally the cooperative performs 3 types of activities:
• Own orchards of apricot and plum cultivation, harvesting, processing and marketing.
• Harvesting, processing and marketing of purchased fruit.
• Purchase and sale of dried fruit produced by the villagers of Yervandashat which does not form a significant volume in financial activities of the company.
The total duration of the annual production of dried fruit is about five months, mid-June to mid-November.
Dried fruit manufacturing process includes the following main stages: transportation of raw material, washing, processing, drying, sorting and packing.
The cooperative owns 7 solar and 2 electric dryers located in the territory of Yervandashat.

KASHI -LOGO-2 (1) “Kashi” OJSC

Since ancient times, Armenia was famous for tanning and leather making, manufacturing of colored goat-skin shoes, parchment-skin books and leather book covers. To hand down the millennial tradition, “Kashi” OJSC tannery, has been founded in 1894 by Gabrielian brothers, as Yerevan Tannery, which initially used semi-domestic technique for processing of 3000 hides annually.

“Kashi” OJSC, in order to improve its productivity and performance, as well as to access international markets, within the scope of grant and loan programs, has received financial support from the Government of Armenia and a number of international organizations. Particularly, in 2005, the US Agency for International Development «Sustainable Water Resources Management for Enhanced Environmental Quality,” and “Agribusiness Small Medium Enterprise Market Development (ASME)» two projects have jointly implemented by the company’s modernization program, under which the wastewater treatment plant of tannery effluents was completely rebuilt and re-equipped, thereby reducing the potential negative impact of the leather production on the river Hrazdan hydro-ecosystem and other components of the environment. The commissioning of the effluents treatment plant became crucial in terms of joint efforts for promoting the economic growth and resolving of environmental problems, thus being a replicable wastewater treatment model for similar industries in the region. Operation of the effluents treatment plant also pursued another goal, namely, to provide opportunities for “Kashi” OJSC to have its stable position in international market, and to create sales opportunities for the raw materials and finished products.

ashtarakdzu ”Ashtarak Dzu” LLC

”Ashtarak Dzu” LLC is one of the leading companies in egg production industry of the republic, occupying over 8% of the market. The company was founded in 2007 through an investment by Russian businessman of Armenian origin. Number of employees: 80-90. The territory of the factory, real estate and equipment are owned by the company.

The total area of ​​the factory is 7.3 ha. Currently, an aviary for the young and 4 aviaries for laying hens are operated. There exist a stern cuisine, 3 sorting workshops, a packaging workshop, industrial warehouses and a warehouse of finished products. The plans for 2015-2016 include the construction of 3 more aviaries (45,000 birds in each) and another aviary for the young (52,000 bird places). Thus, currently the factory can accommodate 275,000 laying hens. Stern cuisine: power of 81 kW, capacity of 4 t per hour.

“HATM” Ltd

“HATM” Ltd. (the former Armenian-American Housing Manufacturing entity) of “Hayastan” All-Armenian Foundation was established in 1991 by joint efforts of the Government of Republic of Armenia and Armenian Assembly of America. Gyumri, as a most damaged area in the 1988 Spitak earthquake, was chosen as a place for construction of the enterprise. The goal was a production of the high quality and earthquake resistant construction materials for the Earthquake Zone.

Block-produsing and woodworking shops were formed and were provided with American and European equipments.From the very day of the start the enterprise has provided the construction companies not only in Shirak Marz, but also in other regions of Armenia with high quality construction materials.

One of the main directions of production of the enterprise is considered to be the production of school, office and kitchen furniture. Elite furniture for apartments also produced here.

Since 1999 HATM” Ltd. has been managed and controlled by Armenian Foundation, which has expanded the area of its work. The enterprise has also inculcated ISO 9001:2000 international standard of the system of the quality management.

”Lukashin” LLC

Agricultural Association Lukashin” Consumer Cooperative was founded in April of 2005 as a community-based small enterprise of 42 farmers. Now it unites 124 community farms from Lukashin, Khandjan and Noravan communities of Armavir region, RA. The main intention and objective of the Association, is to support the member farmers to develop their economic activities, and resolve their legal, financial, social and technical issues.

The main activity of the SME is production of dried fruit from technical grade and table sorts of fruits (apricots, peaches, plums, apples, pears, figs and grapes) and gourds (melons) grown on the lands of Lukashin rural community located in the heart of Ararat valley, famous for the taste qualities of its fruits and vegetables. Average production capacity is 14,000 kg/year of finished product (dried fruit) that are mainly consumed in the internal market and partly exported to Russian Federation and EU.

“MARILA” LLC is created in 2010. The purposes of creation were to receive a high-quality product from local raw materials for what founders didn’t feel sorry for efforts. From Germany were brought necessary the equipment, and also the corresponding experts and idea are invited became reality: the company which of local environmentally friendly raw materials makes meat products. In the initial stage engaged only production of meat products the company managed to become recognized in the market for the account high-quality product. Today already the company is engaged also in production of dairy products. The equipment of dairy production too are brought from Germany. The company is provided with high quality experts all technical resources for production of high-quality production. The plant conforming to the European standards is created. The company has own laboratory which excludes access of products of poor quality on the market. Addition of workplaces was the following purpose of founders of the company. It is the purpose too it is possible to consider the carried out. Now in the company work 51 workers. In the company work both skilled and skilled workers, and young workers which specialize in different areas of production. Thus, the company tries to solve also a question of alternation of generations of workers. Meat products let out by the company are various. Here products from beef and pork, in particular are made: 1 . Types of boiled sausages (sausages dairy, sausage, the amateur, the doctor’s) 2  .  Types of smoked and boiled sausages (the Krakow, the hunting, cervelat, the Moscow) 3 .Crude-smoked sausages 4 . Delicacies etc. Dairy products let out by the company too are various: Matsun of 3.2%, Matsun of 0.3%, Decanted matsun, Sour cream 20%, Sour cream 10%, Milk, Tan, Cottage cheese, Cheese “Chanax”. Within four years of work of “MARILA” LLC could take place in the market has a many competitors and to participate in several exhibitions. The company cooperates with German given by experts for production of new types of production. The company founded since 2010 was in time will take place in the market. Now production is delivered Kapan, Kadzharan, Megri, Agaraka’s shops, and also known supermarkets of Yerevan and company’s firm shops of the Syuniki Barikner. The main activity is the import of the refrigerated fish products and caviar, produced by Unifish LLC, Armenia, the products storage, processing and sales within United States. The Company possesses direct long-term contracts for the products supply in all the largest Federal retail networks. At the present stage a Vertically-Integrated Holding is formed with unique water resources, using the clearest artesian water with an unparalleled flow value and annual average temperature perfectly suitable for fish breeding, with water quality being close to potable water.
Relying on unique natural conditions for aquaculture in Armenia, Unifish Company has been growing fast, expanding the production capacities on annular basis. In 2010 the Company invited the leading consulting specialists in aquaculture from Denmark and Germany. The joint search of breakthrough solutions in the field of commercial fish breeding resulted in the commissioning of the world’s state-of-the-art technologies in the production chain. This has made it possible to become a leading regional producer of high-quality, eco-friendly fish products in a very short period of time. Currently the Company is one of the largest producers of sturgeon in Europe. The capacities commissioned in the year 2013 will make it possible to become the leading producer of the rainbow trout and trout caviar in the Eastern Europe by the year 2015. From the year 2008 the sturgeon brood stock has been formed according to plans. By now all the necessary six generations have been formed, which enabled to close the necessary cycle for continuous caviar production, using the fish slaughtering method, yielding the best quality caviar. The commissioning of the facility shall make it possible for the Company to become the world’s leading producer of ossetra caviar.
The clearest water and special fish feeds help to get the final product with unique tastiness. The absence of filtration systems, no necessity in water heating up and stable annual water temperature: 17,5°s in winter and 19,5°s in summer at sturgeon facilities and 13,5°ѕ in winter and 15,5°ѕ in summer at trout facilities help to get the product in the shortest possible time with the lowest production cost in the industry. The quality of the produced ossetra caviar will be similar to the well known and now forbidden for sale wildlife caviar form the Caspian Sea. The highest quality, the availability of large volumes of the product on the annular basis and a very low production cost of the produced ossetra and trout caviar help us to steadily expand our presence at all the world’s markets.

The expansion of the production areas and the introduction of intensive technologies will allow increasing commercial fish output up to 350-400 tons in 2010.

It is expected that in 2010 the production volume of commercial sturgeon fish will reach 500-600 tons. The expansion of the production facilities and introduction of new technologies will enable to increase the annual production volume up to 1200-1500 tons in 2011-2012 year.

In the beginning of September we set in operation a modern factory of shock freezing of the leading Japanese producer Dikin Company. This production will enable us to deliver to the final consumer a top quality product.

“Ararat Food Plant”

“Ararat” Food Plant produces many delicious products: 100% natural juices, nectars, and juice drinks, jams and preserves, marinades as well as herbal and classic teas! On April 8th, 2011 “Ararat” Food Plant was officially opened with a red ribbon-cutting ceremony honored by thepresence of the President of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Serzh Sargsyan. Afterwards, the President and members of his government were visited our workshops and introduced to our multiple products and future plans.

Also in 2011, on May 2nd by decision of Mr. Tigran Sargsyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, “Ararat” Food Plant General Director Mr. Sargis Tarverdyan was awarded the Medal of the Prime Minister of Armenia for investments made in the national economy and for export promotion activities accomplished during 2010.

“Ararat” Food Plant’s laboratory is one of the best in the region, equipped with a wide array of the latest technologies.

This high-tech production lab contains 3 sections, all supplied with modern equipment. The entire manufacturing process – from receiving raw materials to the finished products -is subject to constant controls by “Ararat” Food Plant specialists.

Having our own laboratory and computerized manufacturing process helps our employees to monitor and control the production process. By maintaining stringent quality requirements for all its products, “Ararat” Food Plant closely keeps tabs on the developing world market. ”Arame ev Sophi” LLC

The organization is founded at July 2014, based on former “Karakhach dairy” and at the period of observations it was still in formation stage and construction too. Main accent is being done on cheese production, developing possibilities of matzoun too. Despite of the production is currently on-going and during summer months (the most overloaded) it was processing 2000 – 3000 kg of milk per day, it has 6000 – 7000 kg possible capacity.

It is typical SME having 8 employees, including 2 specialists, which is going to enroll more than 20 independent cattleman (6000 cattle) all around the region. In case of old traditions, professional basis and favorable natural-environmental conditions, currently there is no local company, processing milk, which extremely increase an importance of this initiative.

Management and marketing strategy of organization is focused on promotion of 3 kinds of cheese (Lori, Chanakh, Brindza) with traditional “home-made” technology in local market, which can attract clients with its high quality and unique taste as an “ecologically clean product”.
