On 9th of November RECP team organized the third RECP Green Club in Dilijan city of Armenia which took place in ‘’Aarhus’’ center. The next green club was aimed at presenting the next module on water and wastewater, as well as making self-assessment discussions among green club member organizations. The national facilitator Ms. Dshkhuhi Sahakyan gave the technical content on water and wastewater, presenting the problems related to the water use, opportunities and benefits, main reasons for inefficient water use and suggested solutions. Discussions were held among the participating organizations. During the discussions issues related to water resources in Dilijan city were arisen. The following issues were arisen during the discussion:

  • water supplied in Dilijan city is of low quality, containing heavy metals and hazards
  • in some buildings and institutions the water is only cleaned through the drainage system
  • ensure the high quality and clarity of the water
  • there is a significant loss in the number of people staying at Dilijan Resort in recent years because of the low quality of the water supplied there

They also added that facial steps are not yet taken to improve the quality of water supplied in the whole city.

During the workshop the participants were handled practical assignments with exercises on water profile. On the handled sheet they were required to complete the table related to water profile of their companies with scaling grades. The meeting was summarized and feedback received.
