Within it, successful projects supported by UNIDO will also be presented, together with the Guide on Waste Management created for the fishery industry (and approved by the Ministry of Environment on 27 July 2022), which will be discussed and open for feedback and recommendations.

On this occasion, around 50 participants from the Armenian Government, the EU Delegation, state specialized agencies, business organizations, international development partners, and private companies are invited to the Round Table. The event will be hosted in both Armenian and English (with simultaneous interpretation).

About Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP)

The RECP methodology implemented by UNIDO under the EU-funded programme, EU4Envirnment, has been a long-acknowledged practice that helps industries increase efficiency and improve resource use so that they can advance productivity without further damaging the environment. This is because RECP is comprised of preventive environmental strategies targeting processes, products, and services and leading to a reduced amount of pollution and waste.

In Armenia, RECP is introduced through the delivery of capacity-building activities to professionals and entrepreneurs from industries that wish to adopt RECP measures, and thus promote a transition to Circular Economy. At the same time, RECP is also promoted through demonstration audits in selected manufacturing enterprises, referring to relevant policies and practices based on best international and national practices, as well as knowledge-sharing and awareness-raising activities that clarify the benefits of RECP to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), help improve the quality of products and services, and overall, create additional economic and environmental benefits for businesses.
