On March 19, 2924, EU4Environment Action, within the RECP project is organizing an awareness meeting on RECP Innovative approaches towards sustainable industrial development in Armenia, which will present the results of the RECP activities and outline innovative solutions recommended and implemented within EU4 Environment Action in Armenia.
2nd Stakeholder’s Group Meeting
On December 21, 2023, 2nd Stakeholder’s Group meeting was held in Opera Suit Hotel in Yerevan. The RECP Stakeholders Group meeting aims to present the current results of the RECP activities taking place under the EU-funded EU4 Environment Action in Armenia and to discuss their application and results in selected industries. The event also aimed to share the industries’ experiences and discuss the recommendations on the possibility of further supporting RECP and Circular Economy promotion in Armenia among manufacturing enterprises, in their supply chains, and other related businesses with the support of the related stakeholder organizations of the RECP Stakeholders Group.
EU4Environment national conference on “Ten years of promoting circular economy in Ukraine”
This year’s EU4Environment national conference on “Ten years of promoting circular economy in Ukraine” commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre in Ukraine. The conference will take place on 19 December 2023 in a hybrid format. The conference is open to all stakeholders interested in and working on issues related to the greening industry, Circular Economy, Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP), waste management, and environmental protection.
Green Clubs. 6th meeting in Gyumri - Module 6: Action Plan
On November 24, 2023, the Asparez Press Club Hall in Gyumri hosted the 6th and final meeting of the Green Club, dedicated to unveiling "Module 6: Action Plan". The gathering boasted a diverse attendance of 19 participants, comprising representatives from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the region, local government officials from the Armavir community, members of the NGO sector, and the project staff from REC Caucasus, serving as the National Implementing Partner. Given the overarching goals of the RECP project, which center around optimizing the efficient use of raw materials, energy, and water, judiciously selecting their sources, and addressing waste reduction and neutralization, along with the reduction and recycling of wastewater, and the control of emissions to the air basin, there is a growing relevance for business leaders to engage in action planning. Such planning aims not only to enhance the current situation but also to facilitate the implementation of viable changes in alignment with these critical environmental objectives.

The event was attended by 19 participants, including representatives from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the region, the local government of the Gyumri community, the NGO sector, and the project staff of REC Caucasus, who serves as the National Implementing Partner. Given that the Resource Efficiency and Clean Production (RECP) program is designed to enhance the environmental performance and resource efficiency of SMEs, thereby fostering sustainable industrial development, employment, and income levels, addressing the environmental and health issues associated with the use of chemicals and the disposal of hazardous waste becomes highly pertinent.

The fourth Green Clubs meeting centred around Module 4, which delves into saving raw materials and reducing waste aspects. This module offers a comprehensive exploration of the use of raw materials and waste management, utilization, recycling, and how to mitigate their adverse environmental consequences. The meeting yielded valuable insights into methods for minimizing these impacts and effectively tackling the ensuing environmental challenges.

In 2023, on September 8th, the second meeting of the component focused on establishing Green Clubs, as part of the EU-funded Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) program, took place at the Armavir Development Center NGO's office. The primary objective of this meeting was to introduce "Module 2: Energy" to the club members.

Launching of Event on RECP Green Clubs in Armavir
The Green Clubs of the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) project have been established and are currently active in four regions of the Republic of Armenia: Ararat (Ararat city), Tavush (Dilijan city), Lori (Vanadzor city), and Kotayk (Hrazdan city). To ensure the continued success of the project and to promote the RECP methodology and its principles throughout Armenia, a new phase of EU4Environment activities has been initiated. This phase involves the establishment of Green Clubs in the city of Armavir, located in the Armavir region. The primary goal of these Green Clubs is to support the conservation of natural capital, enhance human well-being, and foster economic development within the regions.

The launching event aims to commence the RECP Green Clubs in Armenia, starting with the one in the Armavir, Armavir region. The RECP Green Clubs are an effective tool developed to support Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in adopting Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) measures, supported by the EU-funded regional programme, EU4Environment Action.

Monitoring visit to “Kara ev Karen”LLC in Vanadzor
On 3 June 2023, a monitoring visit to the “KARA YEV KAREN LLC” enterprise was conducted by the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) experts Ms. Susanna Hakobyan and Mr. Perch Bojukyan, alongside business planning expert, Mr. Artur Ghazaryan. The purpose of the visit was to assess the implementation of the RECP measures recommended to boost the production of dairy products and to support the development of a RECP action plan.
